Looking for a Few Good People

March 18, 2019

The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC) a non-profit 501©3 organization dedicated to its mission of building tomorrow’s workforce in southwestern Pennsylvania through early childhood development, employment and training, education, and business services and provides its programs and services to residents of Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette and Westmoreland Counties. Later this fall PIC will celebrate its thirty sixth birthday and is looking to add a few more Good People to their workforce. PIC currently employs 350 full and part-time employees in Southwestern PA and looking to expand this number.

PIC has three divisions: Early Childhood Development, Education and Workforce Development that are in need of innovative professionals to complement its current workforce. In 2010, Fayette County’s Head Start/Early Head Start Program was named a National Center of Excellence. PIC was only one of ten programs nationwide to receive this honor and recognition.   This is just one example of the high work standard set by PIC’s Executive Team and achieved by the supervisors and staff that perform the day-to-day operations.

PIC offers competitive wages and benefits which include the following: Employer paid single health coverage for their employees or a monthly cash buyout if health insurance is not needed by the employee; employer paid vision and dental insurance for the employee, their spouse and eligible dependent children and employer paid short-term, long-term disability policies and life insurance all for the employee. PIC also offers a 401k pension plan with John Hancock that is available for employees to start to save for their retirement. Once an employee has been employed a year and deferring into this plan, they will become eligible for an employer match per the Summary Plan Description.

PIC provides a four-day work week in some divisions once a new hire is trained and approved by their supervisor. PIC offers a tuition reimbursement benefit, 11 paid holidays during the calendar year and sick and vacation time off combined in one bank referred to as PTO (Paid Time Off).

PIC is excited about a new benefit it is piloting in 2019.  PIC recognizes the need that most non-profits have to maintain their performance goals and get the work done. PIC is encouraging their workers to build a relationship in the community by networking and volunteering at another non-profit. PIC believes this will only make the organization and its employees better and the volunteering employee will also accumulate additional PTO.

If you would like to see how your skills and talents matches with PIC please call or email Dick Holler, Talent Acquisition Leader at 724-836-2600, Ext. 234 or rholler@privateindustrycouncil.com.
