The Private Industry Council takes pride in being an employer who gives people the opportunity to grow while on the job in our Head Start programs located in Beaver and Fayette Counties. We accomplish this by offering an entry-level Instructor Aide positions to applicants with a high school diploma/GED and experience working with children ages 3-5. In this position, the employee must agree to enroll in our onsite, 144-hour Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialing program to be completed within two years of hire.

This allows the individual to have hands-on classroom experience by working with an Instructor to assist with lesson planning and creating a safe and healthy learning environment while engaging with children and their families. The CDA program guides the employee on how they can work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children utilizing a core set of competency standards that are nationally recognized in early child care. The CDA teaches how to nurture the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social development of children.

Upon attainment of this credential, the employee receives an increase in their salary. Usually, this certification would cost around $595., but PIC pays for this cost for any entry-level Instructor Aide working for the Head Start program. Not only does this help the Head Start programs, but it gives the individual a valuable credential for their resume. As the job market changes, this position remains essential in providing quality education and care to children in our communities. The advancement does not stop there, the employee can enroll in an Associate and Bachelor degree program and participate in our Tuition Reimbursement incentive. The opportunities are endless! How about visiting our job openings page to see where you can begin!
